I have finally got the the stage where I am grateful for my ADHD. I used to think of it as a curse and barrier after barrier getting in my way of leading a normal life. While the world focuses on the downsides, Ive embraced my brains unique wiring that has led to some pretty fantastic qualities..

Empathy - ADHDers are highly empathetic and not only experience their own emotions with greater intensity but also the emotions of others. Picking up Subtle clues like body language makes them exceptionally insightful and sensitive to the feelings of those around them.

Enthusiastic People Person -  Humour and wit in bucket loads especially in unexpected situations. This is by far one of my favourites, ADHDers are normally completely authentic and open.  This leads to more genuine and straightforward interactions, making it easier for others to feel comfortable. All these traits add up to a person who is a pleasure to be around.

Spontaneity - Often seen as an ADHD weakness as neurotypicals may find it disruptive or stressful, managed correctly spontaneity can be a super strength.

Resilience - Having to navigate daily challenges makes a persons ability to bounce back much stronger.  Many ADHDers thrive in difficult situations, tackling them head on and finding innovative solutions. I am always trying to think outside the box.

Intuition - Sometimes overwhelming but most of the time extremely helpful. Spotting patterns, subtle body language, basically a massive amount of data from the surroundings others might miss.

Hyperfocus - When you find something interesting or stimulating the ADHD hyperfocus is a skill to be marvelled at! Incredible Productivity, boosted creativity and innovation. What’s not to love.

Strong Moral Compass -  A Black and White sense of right and wrong not restricted by social norms.  Strong Internal Values are a Hugh win.

Thriving in a Crisis -  While a small,  insignificant set back can send ADHDers into a tailspin, in an actual crisis situation we come into our own remaining calm and controlled and focused on the problem at hand.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the many incredible strengths that come with ADHD..
